Cottesloe home in Perth
Briefing:
This fully renovated high end home had a classy beach style finish throughout. The owner was in need of protection from the harsh afternoon sun for his very large west facing alfresco area. A major concern for him was that he didn’t want the blinds to detract from the feature posts & ceiling lining boards that were a big feature of the alfresco area, he needed the blinds to integrate in to the existing look.
The product:
After considering a few things such as the customers desire to have the blinds motorised and be as user friendly as possible & the oversized heights of the openings (the height of the blinds needed to be 3.4 metres , most outdoor blinds are manufactured to 3 metres ) it was decided the Zipscreen product would be best suited. We installed a total of 6 blinds to the area and secured all headboxes up behind the solid timber top beams of the structure to ensure a minimal look . the fabric selected was titan grey sunscreen mesh teamed up with shale grey headboxes & side channels.
The end result:
The finished project delivered on all aspects , the heat and glare reduction to the area was dramatic. The installation method we went with & the colour scheme blended in seamlessly to the existing structure and looked like it was part of it. The motorisation made the blinds ever so easy to use with the touch of a remote control button, the owner could operate the blinds sitting in the living area of the home which opened up to the alfresco. Personally this was one of my favourite installs as seeing the job through from start to finish & seeing the stunning end result was very rewarding.
